FAQs
Professional storytellers and the people who influence them: independent creators and consultants, presentation and brand consultants, creative and strategy agencies, fundraising advisors, venture platforms, conference and event producers, and communities that care about how ideas are presented.
If people come to you asking, “Can you help me with my deck?” or “How should I tell this story?”, you are in the right place.
Our public affiliate program is lightweight: grab a link, share Chronicle, earn a (lower) percentage on paid accounts that sign up.
The Chronicle Partner Network is higher touch and higher leverage:
- Higher revenue share
- More activity expectations
- Access to our internal team, templates, and roadmap
- Designed for people who want Chronicle woven into their practice, not just an extra link in a bio
If you just want a simple link with no commitments, the standard affiliate track is best. If you want to build with us, apply here.
There is no cap.
You earn 50% of net subscription revenue from each referred workspace for their first 12 months on a paid Chronicle plan. If you bring in 100 workspaces that each pay 100 USD per month for a year (Ultra plan), that is roughly 60,000 USD to you.
People who purchase Chronicle via your link or code receive:
- 30% off any eligible paid plan for their first 12 months – our highest discount tier across all promotional plans
- Access to any templates or decks you have made available for your audience
You can position this as “partner pricing” and bundle it into your own services.
Beyond commission and discounts, partners receive:
- Free Chronicle Pro for your core team for 6 months
- Private partner Slack access with Chronicle and other partners
- Workshops, office hours, and enablement sessions
- Early access to selected features, templates, and experiments
- Co marketing opportunities: case studies, webinars, content collaborations, and directory listings
Top performers may also be invited into deeper collaborations such as feature pilots or joint events.
Yes.
If you refer another creator, studio, or platform that is accepted into the Chronicle Partner Network, you receive a fixed cash bonus once they hit their first referral milestone.
You can refer a partner by emailing us at [email protected]
You will get access to a Partner Dashboard that shows:
- Clicks on your links
- Signups and activated workspaces
- Conversion to paid
- Current and pending commissions
- Payout history
Everything is tracked automatically. You will also receive monthly summary emails and can export data for your own reporting.
When someone first clicks your unique link, we set a tracking cookie and log them in our referral system.
- If they purchase any eligible paid plan within 90 days, you receive credit
- If they visit multiple partners’ links, attribution follows a clearly defined rule (for example, first click). We will spell this out in the partner agreement
For enterprise or sales assisted deals, you can also share an email on [email protected] so a Chronicle teammate can attach revenue to your account.
A referred account must:
- Start from your tracked link, code, or logged intro
- Be a new Chronicle workspace that is not already on a paid plan
- Stay active past any initial free period and make at least one eligible payment
Self referrals and obvious abuse will not qualify.
- Payout cadence: once per month
- Methods: common payout methods such as bank transfer or PayPal, depending on your location
- Minimum payout threshold: a reasonable floor of $100 to avoid micro payments
You will see the status of each commission in your dashboard: pending, approved, or paid.
Yes. This is one of the main reasons the program exists.
We will work with you to:
- Map your workflow to Chronicle
- Design custom or semi custom templates for your niche (SaaS sales, climate, fintech, education, etc.)
- Build repeatable patterns that your audience can reuse
You can treat us almost like a product team behind your practice.
Yes.
You will get a library of:
- Example decks you can lightly customize and share
- Prompt recipes for turning notes and research into structured presentations
- “From raw to Chronicle” flows you can show live: notes, outline, AI assist, manual polish
You are encouraged to remix them and put your own voice on top.
Yes. Co marketing is built into the program.
Examples:
- Case studies on how you used Chronicle to win a deal, raise a round, or run an internal initiative
- Joint webinars or live builds
- Template packs released under your name
- Curriculum modules for your accelerator, course, or community
Bring us ideas. We will prioritize the most interesting, concrete stories over generic product overviews.
Baseline expectations:
- At least one Chronicle centric social post per week on X or LinkedIn
- Consistent usage of Chronicle in your own work
- Reasonable volume of referral traffic or leads over each quarter
If you meet these and maintain a healthy relationship with your audience, you will stay in good standing.
Yes, and we strongly encourage it.
Use whatever platforms you are fluent in. Short walk throughs, time lapses, and teardown videos of Chronicle decks tend to perform well.
Whenever possible:
- Include your unique link or code in descriptions or bio
- Share performance or standout posts in the partner Slack for amplification
Both, but process tends to win.
People love seeing:
- How you go from messy notes or docs into a first Chronicle draft
- How you use AI features, templates, or widgets
- How you edit and polish to get to the final deck
Show the journey, not just the pretty cover slide.
We want your personality and voice in the work. A few principles help everything feel coherent:
- Speak to serious creators and operators, not pure beginners
- Emphasize clarity, speed, and polish over hype
- Show real use cases: strategies, pitches, memos, reviews, proposals
- Keep visuals clean and legible, with enough contrast and breathing room
- Avoid misleading claims or fake numbers in your examples
If you are unsure whether a piece of content fits, share it in the partner Slack for a quick check.
Absolutely. Many of the highest leverage partners are studios.
For agencies, Chronicle often becomes:
- The default tool for any client deck
- A way to standardize internal templates and outputs
- A differentiator when pitching for work (“We build and maintain your Chronicle system, not just a one off presentation”)
We will help you design packages so Chronicle usage is baked directly into your services.
Yes.
If you run programs where people need to pitch, Chronicle can be a core part of your stack:
- Portfolio wide access and pricing
- Demo day and investor update templates
- Training sessions for founders or students on telling clear stories with Chronicle
We can co develop custom modules for your curriculum.
Yes.
For larger teams, you can either:
- Use your link as usual and let them purchase directly
- Or, submit an enterprise intro form so a Chronicle teammate can handle procurement, security, and onboarding
As long as your introduction is the reason the conversation exists, we will attribute the deal to you and share the economics based on what is in your partner agreement.
It is preferred.
Partners should be credible users of Chronicle in their own work. If you are new, we can still consider you, but expect to invest upfront in building a few Chronicle decks and sharing them before we formally launch your partner activity.
You do not need to be exclusive to Chronicle, but:
- Do not present competing tools as interchangeable with Chronicle in the same piece of content
- Do not misrepresent competitors or create negative campaigns
We want partners who choose Chronicle because it fits their taste and workflow, not because they are contractually locked in.
Life happens.
Missing an occasional week is fine. Long stretches of silence are not. If we see extended inactivity:
- We may pause perks such as credits, early access, or co marketing
- If inactivity continues, we may move you back to the lighter affiliate track
If you know you will be offline for a while, let us know. We can plan around it.
Yes, a few non negotiables:
- No spam or mass unsolicited messages
- No misleading income claims or fake performance numbers
- No misuse of discounts or self referral loops
- Only show work or assets you have rights to share
- Follow the terms and policies of any platform where you post
We reserve the right to remove partners who put their audience or our users at risk.
Paid ads are possible, but they require coordination:
- You must have explicit written approval from Chronicle before running ads that mention Chronicle directly
- You are responsible for complying with ad platform policies
- We may ask you to pause or adjust campaigns that conflict with our own paid efforts or brand guidelines
In general, we prefer organic and community led distribution, but we are open to thoughtful experimentation.
If your client purchases Chronicle through a salesperson or offline invoice instead of your link:
- Let us know before or as soon as the conversation starts
- We will attach the opportunity to your partner account in our CRM
- As long as you are the reason the deal exists, you will participate in revenue share on the same terms
The key is to keep us in the loop early.
No.
We do not charge fees for the Chronicle Partner Network. The only “cost” is your consistent effort in using Chronicle, sharing meaningful work, and being a good partner to your audience and ours.
